Genome Layer
The organism’s constitutional encoding: identity, mission, permissions, policy boundaries, and values translated into machine-readable constraints.
Defines durable invariants, service identity, role constraints, data separation rules, escalation requirements, refusal conditions, and permitted action classes.
Boundary: The public site explains the governance concept without exposing private policy internals, credentials, or exploitable security mechanisms.

Brain Layer
The executive cognition layer that interprets intent, decomposes goals, compares options, reasons under uncertainty, and coordinates specialized capabilities.
Coordinates planning, task graphs, uncertainty calibration, retrieval selection, risk-aware sequencing, conflict resolution, and synthesis across tools or models.
Boundary: Reasoning is not authority. The Brain can recommend and coordinate, but it does not become conscious, morally autonomous, or self-authorizing.

Memory Layer
The continuity tissue that remembers deliberately: working state, approved context, canonical records, and useful history without uncontrolled data accumulation.
Distinguishes working memory, episodic memory, semantic memory, procedural memory, canonical records, provenance, retention, correction, and scoped retrieval.
Boundary: Memory is governed context, not a private dossier. Public pages do not expose private records, user memory, prompts, or repository material.

Word / Expression Layer
The organism’s translation and communication layer, turning structured meaning into language, speech, documents, commands, and human-facing explanation.
Normalizes incoming intent, renders outgoing communication by audience, preserves uncertainty, validates command objects, and controls disclosure boundaries.
Boundary: The public expression layer must be clean, visitor-facing, and never expose internal instructions, developer notes, security-sensitive implementation, or unfinished operational commentary.

Neurofabric Layer
The adaptive connective tissue of the organism: routing signals, state, evidence references, and authority scopes among specialized systems.
Operates like a governed message mesh: task identifiers, functional routing, authority envelopes, context minimization, failure isolation, priority, and traceability.
Boundary: Neurofabric is a software architecture metaphor for connective signaling. It does not imply biological neurons or machine consciousness.
Risk recognition -> containment -> escalation
Immune Layer
The protection system that recognizes risk, enforces boundaries, contains unsafe flows, protects privacy, and escalates when human judgment is required.
Maps policy checks, data-boundary protection, authorization verification, safe degradation, containment, refusal, escalation thresholds, and red-team maturation.
Boundary: The site can explain safety commitments and governance principles without publishing defensive internals that would weaken the system.
Authorized intent -> controlled tool use -> verified outcome
Body / Action Layer
The execution surface where authorized intent becomes controlled tool use, files, messages, transactions, deployments, documents, and other real-world effects.
Requires structured action requests, least privilege, preview-before-commit, reversibility, idempotency, tool validation, sandboxing, and action receipts.
Boundary: Capability never equals permission. The organism may prepare, stage, or recommend, but consequential execution remains governed by valid authority.

Evidence and retrieval
The organism retrieves the right evidence from the right source under the right authority, then preserves enough context for claims to remain grounded and auditable.
Evaluation and observability
Behavior is measured before automation is trusted. The framework treats traces, scenarios, regressions, and red-team review as part of the architecture.
Provenance and records
The organism records what was requested, what evidence was used, what rules applied, what action occurred, and who authorized it.
